AP Environmental Science
Environmental science is certainly one of the most applicable science courses available to students. The focus of the course is to learn about the natural world in which we live and our impact on the planet. This course follows the Advanced Placement curriculum and is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester introductory college course in environmental science. The structure of the course includes outside class reading and note taking, laboratory investigations, and many student-centered learning activities. Both individual and group projects will be assigned throughout the year. Topics include ecosystems and biodiversity, populations, earth systems, land and water use, energy sources and consumption, atmospheric, aquatic and terrestrial pollution and global change. Throughout each unit, students will be challenged to examine the environmental and economic impact of human actions with the ecosystem.
