Ceramics Studio Art

Ceramics studio art is intended for individuals that have previously taken Introduction to Ceramics. This course is designed for students who are interested in exploring ceramics in more depth. Students will be responsible for brainstorming, designing, and executing their work on a proficient level. There will be a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, planning, experimentation, creativity, and individual expression. Students taking this level of Ceramics will learn additional skills and techniques. During the course you will create your own glaze, learn how to load a kiln, and explore the use of pigments and oxides. This course will allow you to begin a body of work and focus on your unique style. Work created during this level of Ceramics will be portfolio-level quality.
