Video Media Essentials (Online)

Video Media Essentials is a semester online course designed to provide students with the essential skills of video production. The emphasis is to enhance general communications in academics, business, and everyday life through video skills. Students will learn skills in pre-production, production, and post-production. The class will be project-based, and students will need to access Canvas regularly to receive lessons and assignments. Students will be given the flexibility to choose projects from any number of areas including presentations for other classes, MYP projects, student council promotions, commercials for clubs or activities, college admissions portfolios or any personal projects of interest to the student. The class will not meet daily, but the instructor will be available to the student for scheduled face-to-face meetings as well as electronic communication. Video software will be provided to students on their school-issued Chromebooks. Students will need to commit to completing work on their own time.
