Partners in Science
Partners in Science is a program designed for students in grades 11 and 12 who have a desire to work with individuals with disabilities, are interested in exploring the field of teaching, and/or have a love for science that they would like to share with others. Students will learn the process of designing, differentiating, and implementing science lessons and experiments that relate to real world situations and experiences. Units included but are not limited to are plants, animals, nutrition, weather and the environment. General Education students will be paired with a special education student to help teach, guide, and understand the content and how the material can be transferred into life outside of the school building. Students will learn how to implement lessons using a variety of teaching strategies and tools used when working with individuals with disabilities.
