Orchestra

Orchestra is an instrumental group for students with experience playing bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and bass). It is a co-curricular course that meets during the school day with occasional after-school rehearsals and performances. The focus of this program will be to continue to develop string techniques and skills, both individually and within the ensemble. Students enrolled in the USC Orchestra may participate in events offered by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association along with outside performance opportunities and events. Grades are primarily based on performance attendance, but will also include tests, quizzes, daily participation, and assignments. Students are expected to have their own instrument; cellos and basses will be provided for school use.
