Intermediate Communication Arts

This semester elective is available to all students in grades 9-12 but requires a prerequisite of Mastering Media: From the Page to the Digital Age (yearlong) or Intro to Communication Arts (semester). The curriculum for this course will include more advanced work in media and presentation techniques as a follow up to the work in either of the prerequisites. In this workshop-style class, students will study personal and interpersonal communication, digital/social media communication, and broadcasting, including podcasting. Students will apply their knowledge to create digital/broadcast packages, practicing skills necessary in this field. This course will serve as a prerequisite to future upper-level electives in the area of communications.
