HN Wind Ensemble
The Honors Wind Ensemble is for students with substantial experience (Grades 9-12) in solo performance and larger performing ensembles, promoting significant engagement with and appreciation for music through performance of sophisticated wind and percussion literature. Study focuses on mastery of highly advanced music skills, techniques, and processes, creativity through composition and arranging, as well as use of current technology to enhance creativity and performance effectiveness. The course also provides significant opportunities for solo work and participation as a performer or coach in a chamber ensemble. Honors Wind Ensemble students are required as part of the Honors track to audition for the PMEA Honors and District Band held each year on the first Monday of October.
