English 11

English 11 focuses on the reasons for reading and writing in contemporary society. Through a survey of American literature, we study texts in light of contemporary issues and realities. We practice our skills in research and writing, in thinking and discussion. Students continue to refine the writing and research skills necessary for a yearlong, inquiry-based research process that will result in a research paper and a persuasive presentation. Grammar exercises and vocabulary lessons are designed for SAT preparation.
