AP Chemistry
Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry is a challenging high school course providing a comprehensive exploration of fundamental principles in chemistry. Covering topics such as atomic structure, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, and electrochemistry, the curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving. Through hands-on experiments, students apply theoretical knowledge and develop practical laboratory skills, preparing them for college-level work. Ideal for students interested in biology, chemistry, pharmacy, medicine, forensic science and engineering, AP chemistry requires a solid foundation in high school chemistry and offers the potential for 8 college credits or advanced placement upon successful completion of the course and exam.
This course is offered with a pass/fail option. Under the pass/fail option, a course that is completed with a passing grade will count toward the student's total credit hours but will not be computed in the grade point average.
